Songs that get under your skin and trigger either strong adrenaline-fuelled dancing reflexes or pleasurable emotion-driven caressing reflexes. The introverted years of Erasure are clearly over, "Nightbird" is brimming with energy and joie de vivre. The enthusiasm, impatience and tense anticipation of a dazzling new work of genius is evident in both songs and performers. "The last two albums have sounded a bit gloomy and downbeat," Andy Bell sums up the recent past. "Today I'm much happier with the whole situation, as is Vince. You can hear it in the music. This album is actually the best we've recorded in a long time."
