Battleaxe

Battleaxe is a British heavy metal band that was formed in 1980. Emerging during the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM), they gained recognition with their debut album "Burn This Town" released in 1983. The band's lineup has seen changes over the years, but they are known for their classic heavy metal sound characterized by powerful riffs and anthemic choruses. After their initial success, Battleaxe continued to produce music and maintain a presence in the heavy metal scene. They released "Power From The Universe" in 1984, which further solidified their status within the genre. Following a period of inactivity, Battleaxe made a comeback with the album "Heavy Metal Sanctuary" in 2014, showcasing their commitment to the heavy metal style and proving their resilience in the music industry. Despite not achieving mainstream success on the level of some of their contemporaries, Battleaxe has maintained a loyal fan base and continues to be respected for their contributions to the NWOBHM movement.
