British shoegaze band

Chapterhouse was a British shoegaze band that formed in Reading, England in 1987. The group was part of the early 90s shoegaze scene, which was characterized by its ethereal soundscapes, heavy use of guitar effects, and indistinct vocals. Chapterhouse's original lineup consisted of Andrew Sherriff (vocals, guitar), Stephen Patman (vocals, guitar), Simon Rowe (guitar), Jon Curtis (bass), and Ashley Bates (drums). They gained initial recognition with a series of EPs that showcased their dreamy, reverb-laden sound.
