Nordic Folk Music Ensemble

Heilung is an experimental folk band formed in 2014, known for their unique blend of music that they describe as "amplified history from early medieval northern Europe." The band consists of members Kai Uwe Faust, a tattoo artist specializing in Old Norse tattoos; Christopher Juul, who comes from the Danish band Valravn; and Maria Franz of the Norwegian group Euzen. Heilung's music is characterized by its use of a wide array of historical and traditional instruments, including bones, drums, and ancient percussion, as well as their theatrical live performances that often feature elements of ritual and historical reenactment.
