Influential Golden Age Hip-Hop Group

Main Source was a pioneering hip-hop group that formed in 1989, consisting of Toronto-based producer and DJ K-Cut (Kevin McKenzie), his brother Sir Scratch (Shawn McKenzie), and New York-based rapper and producer Large Professor (William Paul Mitchell). The group is best known for their critically acclaimed debut album "Breaking Atoms," released in 1991, which has been widely regarded as a classic in the hip-hop genre. This album is notable for its complex lyricism, innovative sampling, and the introduction of future rap star Nas, who made his recording debut on the track "Live at the Barbeque."
