Mud

British glam rock band

Mud was a British glam rock band that found success in the 1970s. Formed in 1966, the group consisted of lead vocalist Les Gray, guitarist Rob Davis, bassist Ray Stiles, and drummer Dave Mount. They gained prominence with a string of hits that combined rock and roll with a glam aesthetic, often characterized by catchy melodies and energetic performances. Mud is best known for their chart-topping single "Tiger Feet," which was the UK's best-selling single of 1974. They also had other significant hits such as "Lonely This Christmas" and "Oh Boy." The band's popularity peaked in the mid-70s, but they continued to perform and record until their eventual disbandment in 1979, following which members pursued various individual projects. Mud's music remains a defining example of the glam rock era, and their influence can still be seen in the work of later artists who draw inspiration from that period.
