The lineup consisted of Roger Taylor on vocals and rhythm guitar, Spike Edney on keyboards, Clayton Moss on lead guitar, Peter Noone on bass guitar, and Josh Macrae on drums. The Cross released their debut album "Shove It" in 1988, which featured a mix of rock tracks and ballads. Despite the fame of Queen, The Cross did not achieve the same level of commercial success. They went on to release two more albums, "Mad: Bad: And Dangerous To Know" in 1990 and "Blue Rock" in 1991 before eventually disbanding. Roger Taylor's involvement with The Cross allowed him to explore his own songwriting and musical style outside the context of Queen.
