The Libertines

The Libertines are an English rock band formed in London in 1997 by frontmen Carl Barât (vocals/guitar) and Pete Doherty (vocals/guitar). The band's lineup was completed with John Hassall (bass) and Gary Powell (drums). They quickly gained critical acclaim and a dedicated following with their debut album "Up the Bracket" in 2002, which was produced by Mick Jones of The Clash. Their self-titled second album, "The Libertines," released in 2004, further solidified their status as one of the leading bands in the British garage rock revival scene. Known for their tumultuous relationship, Barât and Doherty's chemistry fueled the band's raw and energetic sound but also led to internal conflicts.
