Vincenzo La Scola (1958–2011) was an Italian operatic tenor renowned for his performances in the bel canto repertoire. He began his career after winning the Enrico Caruso singing competition in Milan in 1982, which led to his debut at La Scala in 1983. La Scola quickly gained international recognition, performing at major opera houses around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, and the Vienna State Opera. His voice was celebrated for its clarity, power, and control, making him particularly suited to roles in operas by composers such as Verdi and Puccini. Throughout his career, he worked with distinguished conductors and directors, contributing to numerous recordings of operatic works.
