Violent Soho is an Australian alternative rock band that originated from Mansfield, Queensland. The band was formed in 2004 and consists of Luke Boerdam (vocals, guitar), James Tidswell (guitar), Luke Henery (bass), and Michael Richards (drums). They gained prominence in the Australian music scene with their raw, grunge-influenced sound. Violent Soho's self-titled album released in 2010 brought them significant attention, but it was their third studio album, "Hungry Ghost," released in 2013, that marked a major breakthrough, earning them widespread acclaim and several ARIA Award nominations. They continued to build on their success with subsequent albums, including "WACO" in 2016 and "Everything is A-OK" in 2020. The latter further solidified their status in the rock genre and received positive reviews from critics. Throughout their career, Violent Soho has been known for their energetic live performances and for capturing the angst and spirit of suburban youth in their music.
