Vosound Records

Record company Vosound Records was founded in the spring of 2012 by Jan Smit and Volendam Music. After recording a new album it was soon decided that this album, entitled Jan Smit - Vrienden, would also be the first release on its own record label: Vosound Records. The distribution of the music that Vosound Records releases was placed with Heartselling. The first achievement of Vosound Records was also the first number-1 hit for the label, when the duet Jan Smit En Gerard Joling - Echte Vrienden appeared on single. The second achievement was the number-1 rating for the Jan Smit - Vrienden album. Later that year, the young record label for Vrienden could also have a platinum award on the wall, for the sale of more than 50,000 copies. It is thus the most successful start of a record label ever, anywhere in the world. This milestone was followed by beautiful releases by Jan Smit, such as Jan Smit - Unplugged • De Rockfield Sessies and the successful album Jan Smit - Jij & Ik.
