Axel Rudi Pell and the band at the peak of their fame It was only in 2014 that Axel Rudi Pell celebrated 25 years of his solo career. Instead of taking a break, the German hard rock and heavy metal legend decided to move on. Sooner said than done. After about a year of songwriting, the guitarist returned to the studio in the fall of 2015. The result is his 16th solo album, "Game Of Sins". Axel Rudi Pell received support for the recording - how could it be otherwise - from his eponymous band. They still include vocalist Johnny Gioeli, bassist Volker Krawczak, keyboardist Ferdy Doernberg and, since 2013, drummer Bobby Rondinelli, who was previously the drummer in Rainbow, Black Sabbath and Blue Öyster Cult. On "Game Of Sins" you can hear that the band has been sharing the stage and rehearsal room for several years. The routine, the interplay, the songwriting - everything seems to be round, maybe even rounder than ever before. All ten songs on the album have the potential to become singles. According to the band, this time it's not about any "gap fillers", but about variety: 80s metal, NWoBHM, epic anthems and drawn-out guitar solos. Emotional ballads are of course not to be missed. Some tracks even cross the eight-minute mark. In addition, the drums are more audible on "Game Of Sins" compared to the previous album "Into the Storm" (2014). Overall, the sound of the new album is much fuller and also a bit more aggressive than before. In addition to the standard CD, "Game Of Sins" is also available on double LP and in a limited edition. In addition to the ten new ARP tracks, the CD includes a unique hard rock cover version of the Bob Dylan classic "All Along The Watchtower". For true fans, a limited edition boxset is also available with the album on double vinyl, CD and many other extras. Whoever thought that after 25 years Axel Rudi Pell and his musicians would slow down is definitely mistaken. "Game Of Sins" is an album by a band that is audibly at the peak of their career.
