At 75 years old, Bob Dylan is undoubtedly one of the greatest living artists in popular music. In addition, in recent years, he has made a name for himself as a visual artist (Drawn Blank Series, Brazil Series, among others), exhibited in the world's finest museums and galleries; - written the first volume of his memoirs, made the film Masked And Anonymous, which is noteworthy in every respect, won a Pulitzer Prize, several Grammy Awards, his second honorary doctorate, and surprised everyone as a disc jockey with humor and encyclopedic musical knowledge (Bob Dylan's Theme Time Radio Hour). The CD Pure - An Intimate Look At Bob Dylan, released in 2011, gathers together on a carefully assembled 78-minute digipack a number of rarely heard songs, all but one of which won't be found on any of Dylan's many best-of lists, but are nonetheless among the best Dylan has recorded in the last 55 years. Now this highly acclaimed 17-song collection is being released for the first time as a double LP, with, of course, the finest equipment and workmanship (180-gram vinyl, gatefold sleeve, printed inner sleeves). A good opportunity to get acquainted with this exceptional artist thanks to an unusual compilation of songs (including a long version of "Trouble In Mind" and a rare solo version of "Spanish Is The Loving Tongue", available only on this album) - or maybe just to get to know him first!
