The second single from the album, "Hymn for the Weekend", features Beyoncé and was released in January 2016. The song reached number two in the UK and number six in the US. The third single from the album, "Up&Up", was released in May 2016 and reached number one in Spain and number two in the UK. The album was met with mixed reviews from critics. Some praised the album for its upbeat and positive sound, while others criticized it for being too derivative of Coldplay 's previous work.
