Dusk and Her Embrace is the second studio album by the English extreme metal band Cradle of Filth, released on 3 June 1996 on the Music for Nations label. The album was produced by Scott Atkins and features guest appearances by Gian Pyres and Nicholas Barker. Musically, the album departs from the band's black metal roots and incorporates gothic metal and doom metal elements into its sound. Lyrically, the album is based on the story of Dracula, with tracks like "The Forest Whispers My Name" and "Nymphetamine" referencing characters and plot points from the novel. The album was met with mixed reviews from music critics. Some praised the incorporation of gothic and doom metal elements into the band's sound, while others criticized the over-reliance on keyboards and lack of black metal elements. The album was commercially successful and charted at number 50 on the UK Albums Chart. Later, in February 2005, it received a gold certificate from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for selling over 100,000 copies.
