Music For The Masses is the sixth album by Depeche Mode. The title of the album was meant to be ironic, as Depeche Mode considered themselves an indie band at the time of the album's creation. Today, Dave, Martin and Fletch have long since filled the world's stadiums. The long-playing album contained three tracks that are among the band's classics: Strangelove, Behind The Wheel and, most notably, Never Let Me Down Again. The track Little 15 was released as a single at the request of the French National Society and was not as successful as the other tracks. "Depeche Mode are a bridge between great melodies, metal sound and gloomy melancholy. It is always underlined by Dave Gahan's bass voice. Walking the tightrope between pop euphoria and the emotional abyss, between the cover of Bravo magazine and the underground. It's one of the reasons why an ever-growing community of fans continues to flock to their shows like believers to church. Somehow they must have known.
