The recording of Edvard Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite with the Berlin Philharmonic conducted by Herbert von Karajan, which was praised by the public and the press, is available again on vinyl. With their brilliant and expressive interpretation, Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic have demonstrated a great feeling for the uniquely atmospheric sonic language of the Norwegian composer. In addition to the excellent sound quality and audiophile remastering by Emil Berliner Studios, the high quality 180g vinyl binding by Optimal deserves special mention. The plot of the drama Peer Gynt is originally based on Norwegian fairy tales that were reworked into dramatic poems by Henrik Ibsen. He commissioned Edvard Grieg to write the accompanying music, which premiered in Christiania in 1876. Finally, in 1888 and 1891 Grieg published two suites, Peer Gynt, composed of incidental music, which have since become some of his best-known works.
