George Marino has gone to the trouble of painstakingly remastering the original master tapes of RCA-Victor's 24 Karat hits in Sterling Sound for Analogue Productions. Love Me Tender, Jailhouse Rock, Heartbreak Hotel, Are You Lonesome Tonight... - die-hard Elvis fans will enjoy this as much as lovers of good old rock 'n' roll. Collected on this hybrid SACD are 24 chart-topping Karat hits from various stages of the musician's career. Long an unreleased favorite of audiophile listeners, Marino rounds out a title known for its superior sound quality. The result is wonderfully detailed and has the typically warm sound familiar from Elvis recordings. It just goes to show that RCA doesn't have to skimp on Elvis recordings. George Marino refines the King once again, and by reducing background noise, he brings even more presence to the latest release. Two dozen titles on one CD that have made music history. [Note: There was a printing error in the first SACD release that was not discovered until after completion. Title 5 was identified on the label and in the booklet as "A Big Hunk O'Love", title 10 as "Love Me Tender". In fact, it's the other way around. If you notice this error on your CD, then know that you are not holding a fake, but one of the first copies of the reissue].
