From Elvis In Memphis is Elvis Presley's tenth studio album released in 1969. The recording of the album marked Presley's last return to albums without soundtracks after he terminated his contract with Paramount Pictures. Motivated by his early country, rhythm and blues influences and the latest musical trend in Memphis, gospel and soul, Presley decided to record these songs at American Sound Studio in Memphis. His comeback was definitive when he scored the hit In the Ghetto, which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The album can be considered one of his best recordings, with some fantastic musicians involved. It is often ranked among the best white soul albums of all time. "From Elvis In Memphis" is Elvis Presley's 35th album - originally released in 1969, the recording of this album marked the King's return to "real" albums that were not soundtracks after his contract with Paramount expired.
