The introverted years of Erasure are clearly over, "Nightbird" is brimming with energy and joie de vivre. The enthusiasm, impatience and tense anticipation of a dazzling new work of genius is evident in both songs and performers. "The last two albums have sounded a bit gloomy and downbeat," Andy Bell sums up the recent past. "Today I'm much happier with the whole situation, as is Vince. You can hear it in the music.
