"MY MIND IS FOR SALE"

Multi-platinum selling artist Jack Johnson announces the release of his seventh studio album All The Light Above It Toowhich is due out September 8th on Johnson's label Brushfire Records. The first single from the album is "My Mind Is For Sale."

All The Light Above It Too was recorded over the past year at Johnson's Hawaii-based Mango Tree recording studio. For the first time in many years, the album's instrumentation is entirely Jack Johnson's work, so the songs resonate in a way with the four-track recordings that launched his career 17 years ago.

"The album is the result of what I've been thinking about for the last year," says Johnson. "The year I sailed the North Atlantic to make a documentary about plastic pollution in the ocean. The year that Trump was elected president of the United States. The year I camped, surfed, had my injuries stitched up, explored, dreamed, shared days and talked endlessly with my family and friends... all of this inspired my songs. I usually rough out my songs and then set a time to record. This time the rough versions were actually the final ones. I didn't want the rawness to come out." To complete the record, Johnson brought in producer Robbie Lackritz (Feist, Bahamas) and a couple of his friends who also played on the album.
