Grace Slick is one of the icons of 1960s pop music. The singer with the deep, dark alto voice who went on to slip LSD into Richard Nixon's tea in 1970 filled in for Jefferson Airplane after Signe Toly Anderson left the band. On the album Surrealistic Pillow, the band's lineup of Marty Balin (guitar, vocals), Paul Kantner (vocals, guitar), Jorma Kaukonen (guitar, vocals), Jack Casady (bass) and Spencer Dryden (drums) were first heard and directly produced the songs Somebody to Love and White Rabbit, which are integral to the band. The album's title, Surrealistic Pillow, is said to be due to Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia, who after listening to the recording said that the music sounded as surreal as a pillow. The hybrid SACD was remastered in mono for Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab by Shawn R. Britton and Rob LoVerd. Limited edition in a mini LP sleeve with serial number.
