One of these is 1961's "Coltrane Plays the Blues," on which the jazzman plays soprano saxophone for the first time. Also featured are McCoy Tyner, Steve Davis and Elvin Jones, who recorded "Blues to Bechet," "Blues to Elvin" and "Blues to You," among others. The original analog tapes have been remastered by Bernie Grundman for a double 180g 45 RPM LP. A limited and numbered edition of 2,500 copies was pressed by Gotta Groove Records.
