In addition to songwriting, studio recording, and touring on his own, he has collaborated with many icons and colleagues, including Eric Clapton, B. B. King, Buddy Guy, Herbie Hancock, Kanye West, the Dixie Chicks and Alicia Keys. In the album's first single, "Waiting On The World To Change," Mayer ambitiously attempts to explain his generation's attitude toward politics.
