Schöler wrote in Stereo 12/00: "He interprets the originals of Nick Cave, Tom Petty, Will Oldham and others so "privately" and artistically true that one can marvel at how perfectly he has appropriated them. Strictly speaking, he doesn't interpret them, but invents - Neil Diamond's title song is a marvel! - actually brand new ones."
