Johnny Cash's previously unreleased recording "Out Among The Stars" It's an incredible event! Johnny Cash's new album "Out Among The Stars" has finally been released 30 years after it was recorded and more than a decade after his death. Johnny Cash recorded the songs for Out Among The Stars between 1981 and 1984 with country music producer Billy Sherrill. In addition to a duet with his longtime collaborator Waylon Jennings, Out Among The Stars also includes two duets with Johnny Cash's wife June Carter. The "Out Among The Stars" album was rejected by Columbia Records, which was releasing Johnny Cash's album at the time. When Johnny Cash finally left Columbia Records, his work "Out Among The Stars" also found itself on the sidelines. However, June Carter, Johnny Cash's wife, apparently kept the recordings. According to the Associated Press, their joint son John Carter Cash said: "You never threw anything away. You kept everything from their lives. They had an archive that had the original Johnny Cash Show recordings and random bits, like the camel saddle they got as a gift from the prince of Saudi Arabia." John Carter Cash is also the reason why the 12 tracks on Out Among The Stars are out now. Review of "Why these songs weren't released in the early '80s: a mystery.
