Probably the most pleasant side effect of the 40th anniversary of King Crimson's release is the acceptance and re-evaluation of 1971's "Islands". The 1969 lineup overshadowed the 1972 and 1974 lineup for a long time, and the band was considered very underrated by then. A recording made directly from the mixing desk and discovered in the DGM archives in 2012 shows that the band would have been a good fit for any King Crimson lineup in 1971. In the midst of recording "Islands", the band played three special shows at the legendary Marquee Club. The second night's show captures the relaxed performance on this album and features material from the three albums released so far, as well as early live recordings from "Islands". This is the only set in King Crimson's long history to include material from the first four studio albums. It occupies a key place in King Crimson's catalogue of live albums.
