I could imagine Cannonball's bluesy alto sax against Trane's harmonic, chordal playing, his looser way of improvising, which created a whole new feel, a new sound." This 1958 masterpiece captures early jazz experiments such as "Straight, No Chaser" and the title track. Both the song and the album became true jazz milestones, as the title states, that significantly influenced jazz with a worldwide reach.
