The Pet Shop Boys make a triumphant return - with their new studio album "Electric", the first to be released on their own label X2 Recordings (via Kobalt Label-Services). For the recording of the album, the Pet Shop Boys worked for the first time with Stuart Price as producer. Electric" contains a total of nine tracks - eight new Pet Shop Boys songs and a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Last To Die" - and is arguably the most uncompromising collection of dance anthems ever presented by the Pet Shop Boys. The Pet Shop Boys say, "'Electric' is very much focused on the dancefloor. Our albums often evolve in response to their predecessors. While "Elysium" was quite reflective, "Electric" is pretty "on 12"! And working with Stuart Price on a studio album is something we've wanted to do for a very long time." The first single from the Pet Shop Boys' now twelfth LP will be the song "Vocal", in which the Pet Shop Boys profess their love of good synth pop with vocals. When Neil Tennant sings in his unmistakable voice "This is my kind of music / They play it all night long... Every song has a vocal and that's a change / And everything about tonight feels right and so young / And anything I want to say out loud will be sung", then you immediately hear the joy and ease that the duo have never lost in the nearly 20 years of the band's existence and that makes this group so special. Since 1985, the Pet Shop Boys have had 22 Top 10 hits and four UK number ones. Add to that 3 gold albums ("Behaviour" - 1990, "PopArt" - 2003, "Yes" - 2009) and several hits in the German airwaves.
