Gabriel und weitere Künstler interpretieren Songs andererer Künstler jeweils neu. Die erste Hälfte dieses Doppel-Albums, "Scratch My Back" genannt, wurde original im Jahr 2010 veröffentlicht. Peter Gabriel covert Songs diverser etablierter Künstler, zum Beispiel David Bowie, Paul Simon und Lou Reed, nimmt sich aber auch Werke jüngerer Bands, wie Arcade Fire, Bon Iver oder Radiohead, vor und interpretiert deren Arbeit neu. Viele dieser Künstler konnten im Jahr 2013 erhebliche Erfolge verbuchen. Nun erwiderten diese Peter Gabriels Projekt, indem sie seine Titel covern. Einige entschieden sich, originalgetreue Coverversionen zu schaffen, andere wiederum schufen Neuinterpretationen, die nur entfernt an das Original erinnern. So zum Beispiel Lou Reeds "Solsbury Hill" oder die neurotische, futuristische Version von "Mother Of Violence", neu interpretiert von Brian Eno, der auch als Co-Writer für Bowies "Heroes" agierte, welches Gabriel ebenfalls auf "Scratch My Back" covert. Neben den genannten Künstlern leisten auch weitere ihren Beitrag zu dem Album, darunter Arcade Fire("Games Without Frontiers"), Elbow ("Mercy Street") und Regina Spektor ("Blood Of Eden").
