The Red Hot Chili Peppers released their eleventh studio album, The Getaway, on June 17, 2016. The album was produced by Danger Mouse, who worked with the band on 2011's I'm with You. The album debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart. It sold 118,000 units in its first week, 108,000 of which were pure album sales. It was the band's first album not to debut at number one since 1992's Blood Sugar Sex Magik. The album received a gold certificate from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for shipping 500,000 copies in the United States. The album's lead single, "Dark Necessities", was released on May 5, 2016. The song reached number one on the US Alternative Songs chart, becoming the band's eleventh number one single on the chart. The second single, "Go Robot", was released on September 9, 2016. The song reached number thirty-six on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. The third single, "Sick Love", was released on November 4, 2016. The song reached number sixty-eight on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.
