After her move from Carrere Records, Saxon's seventh album "Innocence Is No Excuse", originally released on June 24, 1985, was the first release on the new EMI label. It was also the last album to feature longtime bassist Steve Dawson, who recorded the album at Munich's Union Studios with singer Biff Byford, guitarists Graham Oliver and Paul Quinn and drummer Nigel Glockler, along with producer Simon Hanhart. The recordings were then mixed at Wisseloord Studios in Hilversum, the Netherlands.
