Rather Ripped is the fourteenth album by Sonic Youth, released in 2006. It was the band's first album in four years and their first album on their own Goofin' label. Rather Ripped was recorded in three weeks and was described by Thurston Moore as "a damn good record". The album was well received by critics and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2007.
