Waltz for Debby is the second album, which was recorded at the Village Vanguard in 1961. While the first album, Sunday at the Village Vanguard, focused on Scott LaFaro's solo work, Waltz for Debby is a portrait of the trio that included drummer Paul Motian in addition to Evans and LaFaro. Evans shows a different face here than, for example, in his collaboration with Miles Davis, his style is clearly more emotive. The interplay of this trio is impressive.
