Product information The Cranberries, consisting of Dolores O'Riordan, Noel Hogan, Mike Hogan and Fergal Lawler, launched their career in their native Limerick, Ireland in 1989 and sold more than thirty million albums worldwide in the 1990s. Produced by longtime friend and collaborator Stephen Street (The Smiths, Blur), Roses harkens back to the freshness and originality of the band's first two albums, "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" In 2003, The Cranberries announced their breakup, but briefly reunited for an acoustic performance in 2009 when Dolores O'Riordan received an honorary degree from Trinity College. "The moment we started playing, it was like we never stopped," Dolores recalls. "There's something about playing with The Cranberries. It's like putting on the perfect pair of shoes. It just fits together." In 2010, they embarked on a reunion tour of 107 shows, during which the band visited all of Europe, North and South America, and Asia, culminating in their first-ever shows in China in 2011. Dolores stated, "Having recorded two albums with different musicians during the hiatus, I could clearly see that Noel and Mike have a unique way of making chords, and Ferg holds it together in a subtle way. We had a great time in the studio, Stephen was in his zone and it came together quite quickly. There's a sense of rejuvenation in the band, a freshness". Guitarist Noel Hogan added: "I always had the attitude that there would be another album. Over the last six years, Dolores and I have sent ideas back and forth". During the reunion tour, the band began working on new music during soundchecks. "The icing on the cake was working with Stephen Street again, who helped us rediscover our sound".
