Classic celebrates anniversary 50 years ago The Kinks released their legendary sixth album, "The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society". To mark this birthday, the Brits are re-releasing the album on CD and LP in 2018. There is also a giant 50th Anniversary edition with many interesting encores and rarities. "The Kinks Are The Village Green Preservation Society" is the first concept album by the group around brothers Ray and Dave Davies. It deals with the sultry idyllic life in a fictional rural town. The 50th Anniversary Edition includes five CDs, a double LP, another LP and three 7" singles. In addition to stereo and mono remasters of the 2018 album, many previously unreleased tracks, live recordings and alternate versions await. It also includes the previously unreleased track "Time Song". The box is accompanied by a 52-page book with extensive liner notes, interviews, photographs and two essays by Pete Townshend and journalist Kate Mossman.
