For Drake, Jamie produced the title track of his million selling single "Take Care". The three worked together for the first time in their own studio on the new album. Although traces of R&B can still be found in The xx's sound, the increased influence of electronic music is evident. Romy's guitar playing in the loop and the corresponding bass lines reflect this aspect. Overall, "Coexist" has become a confident, mature album where little has changed and yet much has changed. It sounds older and wiser, more confident and still remarkably deep and tender. It has become an album on which light returns after suffering.
