In August last year, entertainment legend Tony Bennett achieved an extraordinary feat: with the album "Duets II" he entered the German album charts for the first time in his career, which began in the early 1950s. The long-playing album, on which the New Yorker sang classic songs with Norah Jones, Aretha Franklin and Lady Gaga, among others, reached number nineteen in the Media Control chart. But that wasn't all: the duet "Body & Soul" with Amy Winehouse gave Bennett his first Top 40 hit in this country. In the USA, he fared even better: "Duets II" topped the Billboard chart and Tony Bennett became the oldest artist with a number one album in the history of the chart. Now Tony Bennett releases the third installment of his Duets series. "Viva Duets" brings together the most celebrated singers of the Latin music scene, including stars like Marc Anthony, Roberto Carlos, Gloria Estefan, Christina Aguilera, Juan Luis Guerra, Romeo Santos and Thalía. The album features artists from nine countries and the duets are in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Review , "One quickly gawks, however, at how well the 86-year-old sings and how beautifully he blends with his young colleagues."
