Among his most famous compositions are the music for the 1982 Oscar-winning film The Hour of Victory and the music for Blade Runner, 1492 - Conquest of Paradise and Bounty. He also composed the anthem for the 2002 World Cup. Reissue of a CD originally released in 2013. Remastered edition of Vangelis' classic 1988 album. Remastered under the supervision of Vangelis. Booklet with completely redesigned cover and liner notes. In 2013, Esoteric Recordings released remastered and acoustically enhanced editions of Vangelis albums recorded for the RCA and ARISTA labels. These reissues came in deluxe digipacks and were remastered under Vangelis' personal supervision. "Direct" was the first album released on Arista Records in October 1988 and recorded in Athens after Vangelis moved from London. The album title of this outstanding work was inspired by Vangelis' spontaneous way of working, composing and recording simultaneously in the studio. This Esoteric Recordings release (issued with the permission and personal guidance of Vangelis) includes a booklet based on the original cover art.
