Pressed on 180g vinyl and mastered from the original master tapes, this rarity is now available again on vinyl after several decades. Duke Reid has been producing ska and rocksteady in Jamaica since the 1960s. His recording studio was the first port of call for this sound, and the Trojan label (on which this compilation is released) is named after Duke Reid's sound system truck. Duke Reid loved American jazz and blues and let that passion permeate his work. To this day, his output is considered far more sophisticated than that of his competitors. This compilation contains many rarities, as well as world hits like "The Tide Is High" by the Paragons.
