This kind of aggressive yet passionate promotion meant that the songs being played were accompanied by regular question and answer sessions. The DJ's jive talk became so popular in dancehalls and soundsystems that it was eventually immortalised on vinyl, adding another chapter to reggae's colourful history. "Listen Up! - DJ Style" is being released as part of a series of reggae compilations celebrating Jamaica's 50th anniversary of independence. Listen and enjoy!
