The story of this album began when Apollo Noir, Tigersushi's latest signing, wanted to release a split single. In addition to his own track "Inspiring Images & Visual Power. Chosen With Love & Dedication", the track "Heart" by Glass was supposed to be on it. The label thought: this idea is too big for a small record and made it bigger. "Musique Ambiante Française Volume 1" is only the beginning of a series that shows the French ambient scene in its fascinating diversity. The label breaks new ground with this release, as surprisingly no compilation has been released before, despite the undeniable interest in this genre and the wide range of its players. They look back at the long history of French experimental and electronic music from Pierre Schaeffer to Pierre Henry and Jean-Michel Jarre. Tigersushi was thus able to draw from the whole gamut, and within a few weeks this compilation was perfect, especially since almost all the musicians approached immediately agreed. The 18 tunes blend so homogeneously, it's as if they were just waiting to be put on a joint album.
