"More than good. Beyond evil. It's beyond your wildest imagination." The 1986 Transformers animated film is based on the cult TV series of the same name, which was also animated. The film was directed by Nelson Shin, who also produced the original TV series. The film featured top voice actors Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, Leonard Nimoy, Casey Kasem, Robert Stack, Lionel Stander, John Moschitta Jr, Peter Cullan and Frank Welker. In addition, the film last starred Orson Welles and Scatman Crothers, who died shortly after filming. The soundtrack features synth tracks as well as punchy heavy metal songs, giving composer Vince Dicola a much darker edge to the film than was the case in the series. The song "The Touch" by Stan Bush, which was used in the film, was originally written for the Sylvester Stallone film "Cobra". Other well-known songs also appear in the film, including "Instruments Of Destruction" by NRG, "Dare" by Stan Bush, and "Dare To Be Stupid" by Weird Al Yankovic. The film's theme song was performed by the band Lion.
