Woodstock 50 - Back To The Garden Anniversary Collection features 42 tracks and is released on 3 CDs and 5 LPs. Between August 15 and 18, 1969, the Woodstock Festival was held in the square ca. 32 bands - including some of the most famous and influential musicians of the era, including Joan Baez, The Band, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Grateful Dead, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone and The Who - performed at Woodstock on the 600-acre (2.5 km²) pasture of Max Yagur's dairy farm in upstate New York. However, the audio recordings from Woodstock are not just about the music, but also about the people who were there. Fortunately, the microphones stayed on throughout the festival, capturing the backstage crew's discussion over lunch and shouts in the audience about the latest baseball scores, as well as Max Yagur's rousing speech to the audience gathered at his farm. The cliché goes, "If you remember the sixties, you weren't there." Back to the garden is the way to go for people who don't remember being there. And for all those who were there, it may bring back memories.
