After twelve years of negotiations, ICA Classics has succeeded in establishing an exclusive and long-term collaboration with Lyrita Recorded Edition, the company responsible for the Richard Itter Foundation. The Richard Otter Collection has an almost magical significance for music fans and collectors around the world, as it contains never-before-released recordings by great names. Harold Rosenthal, editor of Opera Magazine, described the performance of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro at London's Royal Festival Hall in September 1954 as "pure joy" and praised the exceptionally strong Austrian cast, many of whom had long-standing connections not only to the Vienna State Opera but to the city of Vienna itself. The cast of singers around Walter Berry, Irmgard Seefried, Lisa Della Casa, Erich Kunz, Sena Jurinac, Paul Schoeffler under the direction of Karl Böhm and Josef Krips shone - and the hearts of opera fans around the world beat faster at the sight of this spectacular premiere.
