Original replacement belt for power transmission from the drive pulley of the Project Signature 12 turntable motor (two pieces)

The Pro-Ject Signature 12 turntable has two drive motors and 2 of these short belts are used to transfer power from the motor pulleys. When replacing them, we recommend replacing the long belt used to drive the turntable's turntable platter at the same time.

To extend the life of the drive belt, never touch it with your hands.When installing or manually changing the speed, use the special plastic wrench (supplied as a standard accessory with Pro-Ject turntables) and install the belt using the key on the pulley.

WHEN IS IT NECESSARY TO CHANGE THE STRAP?

• Every turntable with a belt drive requires regular belt replacement. Exactly when this replacement is necessary depends on several circumstances such as environmental influences, frequency of use, etc.If you notice that the turntable is not reaching full speed, not maintaining the correct speed, fluctuating or cannot switch the rotation speed, it is time for the belt to reach its life limit.
• To prevent these symptoms, a regular check of the belt is necessary. Remove the strap from the turntable and slightly tighten it. A good quality strap should not show any slight distortion of cohesion. If you see any cracks, it means that the strap has dried out over time and timely replacement is necessary.
• If you do not use the turntable regularly and after a period of prolonged inactivity, the strap may stretch or break spontaneously.The straps dry out and age spontaneously and this process cannot be stopped. High temperatures and humidity have such a significant effect on the life of the straps. Regular strap replacement is thus a necessity and a guarantee of quality sound.
• However, when replacing the strap, it is necessary to keep the original specification and most importantly - the same shape and dimensions of the strap.It is not possible to change from a square strap to a round one or otherwise.A different shape would not be adapted to the pulley (motor drive axis) of the turntable and, as a result of the different contact area, the rotation of theThe rotation speed would not be correct and the friction could cause increased wear or breakage of the belt.
