Any vibrations in the record during playback will be picked up by the transmission and reproduced by the amplifier and speakers, causing muddled sound, distortion and reduced detail. To avoid LP vibration, you must make sure that the contact between the vinyl and the platter is perfect. Many older records are also warped. Some more, some less. This causes a big problem for the diamond tip of the transmission to follow the groove properly. The pressure on the stylus fluctuates as the transfer moves up and down while trying to track the record. The results are: obscured sound reproduction with distortion, and unless the turntable drive is really strong ... audible jitter. In some cases, the transmission may actually touch the surface and cause a hissing sound. Be careful that the platter bearing of your turntable is able to take the additional weight of 760g!!! If in doubt, consult your turntable's manual or contact your dealer before purchasing or using this weight!
