Albina Shagimuratova

Russian Operatic Soprano

Albina Shagimuratova is a Russian soprano, renowned for her performances in the coloratura soprano repertoire. Born in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, she studied at the Moscow Conservatory and later at the Houston Grand Opera's young artist program. Shagimuratova gained international acclaim after winning the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2007. She has since graced the stages of many prestigious opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, and the Royal Opera House. Known for her virtuosic technique and compelling stage presence, she has tackled some of opera's most challenging roles, such as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's "Die Zauberflöte," Lucia in Donizetti's "Lucia di Lammermoor," and Gilda in Verdi's "Rigoletto." Her performances have been praised for their technical precision and emotional depth.
