Augustin Braud

French composer Augustin Braud holds a PhD in musicology from the University of Poitiers and is also the recipient of the SACEM Claude Arrieu 2020 prize, awarded to a young composer of symphonic music. He was composer in residence at Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Aquitaine for the 2017 – 2018 season and has since written Ceux qui Restent for the Orchestre Philarmonique de Radio France, which was premiered and recorded in 2022 during the Présences Festival, in addition to Lignier, a solo work dedicated to the violinist Carolin Widmann. Other collaborators include Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Alternance, Ars Nova, Accroche Note, C Barré, 2E2M, L’Instant Donné, Proxima Centauri, Ensemble Sillages, Ensemble Zellig (FR), New European Ensemble (DE), Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart, Ensemble Risonanze Erranti / Peter Tilling (DE), Klangforum Wien (AUT). Both pieces were performed at the ECLAT festival in Stuttgart. In addition of being supported by the Centre National de la Musique, his works are commissionned by SACEM, Salabert Foundation, French Ministry of Culture, Impuls Neue Musik and are premiered in festivals such as Présences, Musica, Eclat, Gaudeamus, etc. Also a member of the progressive metal band EREBE.
