Emma Ahlberg

Swedish Folk Violinist

Swedish violinist and fiddler, born June 15, 1986 in Sundsvall. She was brought up in a family of musicians, surrounded by music, much of which was in the folk music genre. At the age of five she began playing the fiddle and has over the years developed her own distinctly strong and personal style. She has studied Swedish folk music at Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Emma is a member of several folk music groups and contexts, for example with Ulrika Bodén, Folk All-in Band, Limbohofvet, Hilleviensemblen and Lars Bygdén. In the summer of 2010 she became a Riksspelman which is one of the highest accolades within Swedish folk music.
